Welcome to Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

A very warm welcome to Year 6! It has been a lovely start to the term with all pupils continuing to work hard. As in every year group, there will always be challenges as well as triumphs and this year is particularly exciting with the pupils preparing for their transition to secondary school! However, we hope that we can support and encourage the children to take on the challenges and the additional responsibilities with determination and develop their resilience in readiness for the future.

We will be learning about World War II topic this term. Following this we will be studying slavery, focusing specifically on the experiences of Olaudah Equiano, who was married to Susannah Cullen in St. Andrew’s Church, Soham in 1792.   In the summer term, Year 6 pupils will take their SATs tests during the week beginning 13th May. We will then be undertaking topic and science work leading up to our week-long residential trip to the Isle of Wight, during the week beginning 24th June.

If there are any queries or concerns, please feel free to make an appointment to talk with Miss Collen or Mrs Henderson.
