This year the children in Year 2 will sit a Standard Assessment Test in May.
The tests cover anything in our maths curriculum (2 papers) and reading skills (2 papers).
We would ask you not to worry about the 'tests' as we find each year that the children either enjoy them OR don't even realise that they have done them!
The results will be sent home in your child's report and sit alongside the teacher assessed level that is in the main part of your report.
Children receive a 'scaled score' for which 100 is a passing grade. When children are working below the expected level, they usually receive extra support in class and this continues in Year 3 if they fall below 100 and their teacher has not been able to collect a full set of evidence against the curriculum criteria.
